While Mohali is in Punjab, Panchkula is in Haryana. The word panchkula is derived from combination of two words panch (local) + kul (Sanskrit: \u0915\u0941\u0932\u093e) (canal) which mean the city of five canals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" src=\"https:\/\/rustiktravel.com\/allindiaroadtrip\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/Panchkula-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2656\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>The city hosts the&nbsp;Chandimandir Cantonment&nbsp;which is the headquarters of the&nbsp;Western Command&nbsp;of the&nbsp;Indian Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The full-fledged Panchkula district came into existence with effect from 15-8-1995.
