Haryana is a state in North India and is well connected by air and rail. The place is very ancient considering the fact that Veda Vyasa, the saint wrote the epic Mahabharata here. An agricultural state and therefore one could find many green fields and farms. However, there are many places to visit and many things to do depending on what your interests could be. GURGAON
Now known as Gurugram, this city is the financial capital of the city with industry, MNCs and talent staying here. Apart from the various malls, restaurants and night clubs there are many places to visit and explore for a traveler.

Places To Visit: Sultanpur National Park Bird Sanctuary, Damdama Lake, Badshahpur Fort, Begum Samru Palace, Farrukh Nagar Fort, Sohna, Sheesh Mahal.
How To Get There: By Air (IGI Airport, New Delhi), Rail and Road.
KURUKSHETRA
This city is believed to be the location of the famous Mahabarata war. Though there is no evidence or remnants from that event but there are many other places to visit and soak in the history and mythology.
Best Time To Visit: October to March.
Places To Visit: Brahma Sarovar, Sannihit Sarovar, Sheikh Chehlii Tomb, Dharohar Haryana Museum, Kalpana Chawla Planetarium.
How To Get There: Well connected by rail and road. The nearest airport is in Chandigarh (100 km away) and in Delhi (157 km away).
PANIPAT
Apart from finding mention in Mahabharata, this place has been the battleground for three major wars in the history of India. Great place for history buffs to revisit those famous battles.
Best Time To Visit: October to March.
Places To Visit: Panipat Museum, Kabuli Bagh, Old Fort, Salar Gunj Gate, Kabuli Shah Mosque, Grave of Ibrahim Lodi, Bu Ali Shah Kalandar.
How To Get There: Well connected by rail and road. The nearest airport is in Delhi (90 km away).
FARIDABAD
Faridabad, one of he largest cities in Haryana is not ancient as the others but is an industrial hub for the state. Further, there are many tourist attractions here that seen travelers from across the border and other places visit time and time again. Surajkund is famous for the lake and the Surajkund Mela, the annual art and craft fair that happens here. Then there are many other lakes and picnic spots like Badhkal Lake, Dhauj Lake (also a mecca for rock climbers in the adjoining crags and boulders) and many others.

Places To Visit: Surajkund, Badhkal Lake, Peacock Lake, Dhauj Lake, Raja Nahar Singh Palace, Camp Wild.

KARNAL
The city is believed to be established by the Kauravas for King Karna as per the legend of the epic Mahabharata. Karna was famous for his generosity and his military skills.

Places To Visit: Karnal Fort, Karnal Lake, Naraina, Miran Sahib’s Tomb, Kalander Shah’s Tomb, Cantonment Church Tower.
How To Get There: Well connected by rail and road. The nearest airport is in Chandigarh (131 km away).
PANCHKULA
Panchkula is on the outskirts of Chandigarh, a satellite town. It is named after five irrigation canals that flow through. The place is more relaxed than a typical city and therefore is a good getaway place as a day trip or and overnight trip

Places To Visit: Kalka, Pinjore, Raipur Rani, Cactus Garden, Chhatbir Zoo, Mohali Stadium.
How To Get There: Well connected by road, it is around 10 km from Chandigarh.
MORNI HILLS
Morni is the only hill station in Haryana. Situated amidst lush green forests the place is a scenic delight. With lot of outdoor activities such as trekking, cycling and boating, this is a beautiful place for a weekend getaway.

Places To Visit: Tikkar Taal Lake, Gurudwara Nada Sahib, Mansa Devi Temple.
How To Get There: Well connected by road, it is around 40 km from Chandigarh and 30 km from Panchkula.
